Very nice Ali, I like the angle of the pose. I think I’d like to see it in colour….
    thumbs up :D

Wonderfully balanced light. Not sure about the outfit, but what would I know about fashion?

It’s such an awkward angle she should look under some strain but no, she’s perfectly relaxed and in control!!

Thanks a mil Pete, Stef and Tara

Tara – I must try it in colour and send it onto you, I think i decided very early on that i wanted it black and white – maybe i jumped to conclusions :)
Pete – Thanks a mil. you can blame me for the outfit  Straight out of ali bali’s wardrobe i’m afraid :D
Stef – I think the pose worked a treat. I have a few different angles on her face but this was by far the best.

    Thanks a mil all.

Tres cool! The fussy background of the dated wallpaper is on purpose, I guess it works due to the timeless look of the outfit? the lack of symetry by placing the fishnet semiglove (what’s it called?) on one arm only helps t enhanse the edgy pose, and the focused, almost stern look of the model with her original pose.

Jaysus lads, I normally photograph hairy arsed gaa or rugby players if I’m not shooting large animals in distant places so I do not have a clue what I’m on about, but thought I’d have a go at a critique ;-)

Looks fine to me Ali, just a little blown out on some of the forehead and arms?

Thanks Merv and fair play to you for popping your head into the fashion section :). There shouldn’t be any blown areas on the images (says she who is too lazy to open it up in levels :D).

Wow – It’s the monitor. I just moved the browser to another screen and it’s good! Very sorry

I’m even more impressed with the image now!

thx a mil Merv :) I’m the same, even though I know my histograms are fine I still can’t really judge what it really looks like until i get to work – monitor seems to be pretty close to being calibrated. For convenience I work from a laptop at the moment but i’m looking into investing in some decent equipment (calibration/screen/printer) in the next couple of weeks – as more and more work comes my way i really need to see the true output.

I’ve looked at this one quite a few times Ali…but it doesn’t do it for me in the way the others in the set do…maybe for me the pose is just too extreme…too un-natural …probably cos I couldn’t bend like that in a million years…it makes me wince…

But her face is fabulous okay…maybe it will grow on me more with time… :D

I also hate to go against the grain here.
The shot is 90% perfect in my book, the only thing
that lets it down for me is the angle it was taken at.
The models pose is very cool and perhaps a front on shot would have really
shown off the curve and brought some interesting lines into the shot.
I do think it is excellently taken but IMHO a different shooting angle would
have made the shot stand out even more.

Still I really do like it :)

Thanks guys for the comments , lord don’t feed bad for not liking it, I encourage comments that go against the grain – makes life that little bit interesting. :)
This is still very much one of my favourites, I don’t exactly know why, I just enjoy looking at it (if that makes sense :D ).

Yaaayyyy!!! It’s great to be seeing so many postings in the fashion section!

Miss Ali..I hate to go against the grain..but I love the angle…the shot and the model have attitude.

    8) cool.

And I agree with Tara, I am thinking the wallpaper is fairly black and white..the outfit as well…her hair and lips may make an interesting contrast?
