Any tips on the best way to store negatives…easy access and easily recognisable subject matter is what I’m after. I just never seem to be able to find the negs I want when I want them. Please, please, HELP!

Sorry i cant give you any proven advice as I am not to good with my own negatives, I store mine in a briefcase and have to go searching when i need a negative. One think i always try to do, is, on the negative sleeve i put date taken and the subject. Maybe making a reference number from the date, something like 07/05/n1 07/05/n2 and adding it to a spreadsheet or notebook with some tags or key words from the images taken might be helpful.

I’d say the best method is using contact sheets with a reference number made from the date taken which is marked on the negative file as well. Record the ref number in a diary with a quick summary of each roll.

Welcome to PI by the way, nice to see a new member is the film area. Enjoy.

Silverprint have some nice goodies for your negs,

see here for the Storage section http://www.silverprint.co.uk/index1k.html

    or their main page http://www.silverprint.co.uk

Their minimum order is ?100 when ordering from the ROI but sometimes we pool our orders together to get around this

What about printing on canvas and on hardboard? Is there anyone you can recommend?

Check out some of the Liquid Emulsions available for exposing negs to a multitude of materials.
