This is a more recent one from the east coast.

Lovely shot Conor. Very nice leadin from the foreground rocks. The only criticism I’d throw in is that the horizon is showing a fair bit of barrel distortion, which is made quite noticeable by its proximity to the top of the frame. You should have a look at PTLens, it does a great job of correcting lens distortions

I’d agree with John there, that horizon is easy to fix.

I like the subtle reflections in the sea although it’s shame that the sky is a little messy. Nature eh?

The foreground rock has that lovely wet look although I might have preferred it a little less central. I feel small step to the right might have yielded a better composition.

Thanks for the info John . I know how to do it in Photoshop but I’ll check out that PTlens you mentioned . I know it’s not the donw thing , but most of the time, ilike that curverd look across the horizon :-) . You’re right Andy , no matter what you do, she is the boss in the end, another morning near the same spot she demonstrated the ease at which she could easilly take 2 and a half grands worth of gear from me if she felt like it. I think she was just lettimg me know I was HER bitch, and not to forget it, Lol.
Thanks for the feed back lads.

You didn’t drop it in did you?

Anyway, don’t worry and remember my motto.
“If you’re not wrecking your gear, then you’re not trying hard enough”

As long as you come home with the photos then all is well.

No, i didn’t drop it. I had the cam set up real low on the tripod trying to get this shot .It was windy and misty and the gulley i was standing in was only about 8 ft wide(you can’t really see that here) all covered in that evil bright green slippy sea moss. I was set up just so that when the waves broke, the biggest ones would come up around the tripod legs about 4 inches.Set the timer , , hit the cable release and stood back to let it do it’s thing. then a big mother of a wave broke up the channel.i saw it coming and went to get the cam, but i fell. Lol, i was lying there on the stones with the wave rushing around me and the tripod just in front of me, which i couldn’t reach. The water rose up to about 8 inches below the lens before it started to to subside, then i though it would pull it back out with it.By this time I had one hand on one of the legs. It was crazy… and all i could do was laugh at how mad it all was when i finally realised that the gear was safe, and i was only drenched. Crazy stuff, great fun, scary!!

There’s my curvy horizon again :-)
