Excuse: First time shooting sports (of any kind..).
Okay, now that I have my excuses, here are just a few of the photos from the full set in flickr!
Thanks to Conor for lending me his baby – 300/2.8! Only slightly better than my Sigma 70-300! :D :D :D
Indian fast-medium bowler Srisanth against Irish captain Trent Jonston.
Trent Jonston hitting hard to increase the run rate in the final few overs.
Sachin Tendulkar clean bowled by RK Whealan.Flickr set slideshow:

All shots with 300/2.8 + 1.4x TC on 400D. ISO400 or more.
It was great fun walking around with a massive white lens on a monopod. 400D looks like a match box when attached to 300/2.8! And the reaction from the crowd was something else! Apart from the rain delaying the second half by three hours, and the cold wind, it was fun!
Thanks!
CoveyParticipantAlan RossiterParticipantIt almost makes it look exciting! Great shots and love the freezing of the action.
Alan.
MarkKeymasterrmMemberFantastic pictures.
The horizon police may be on your case with the secodn two though. Did you use and noise reduction software?
positronMemberThanks Covey, Mark, Alan! Alan, its all about just taking it easy a whole day, a few (dozen) beers…, see its not all that bad!! :D
Thanks RM, yes, I did fix the horizon on a few shots, but after browsing thru 600 or so shots, picking (Crop, Contrast 25 to 50, Sharpness 25 to 50, and exposure correction in some of the shots), fixing and uploading some 50 or so, my brain was pulp (which was wet paper to start with…) ended up with a massive massive headache! I will go back and fix them though, thanks for pointing out! No, I haven’t tried noise reduction on them. Should I?
A few more (Just in case someone’s not keen on going to Flickr to see the full set – 54 or so shots!! :D Yeah, shameless self promotion indeed!!)
Apologies for posting one too many..! Please feel free to comment on the set, or individual photos! :D
PeteTheBlokeMemberYou’ve done really well here. The wicket balls are great captures, and the Trent’s pull shot is a smashing picture.

NO! I was wondering if it was safe to be as ecoraged by the lack of noise in the pics despite the high ISO or whether there was some post processing involved.
positronMemberThanks PeteTheBloke! RM, I think there is some noise in the larger versions of these images, but not too noticeable.
