    i climbed onto the roof to capture this image for a local paper of a factory closing. i tried to get the steel roof shadow. but over 60 feet up i didnt succeed in getting the depth of height. image looks flat. how can i acheive the 3d? they went my other image of the stack behhind fence. been done a million times but now 1,000,001.

    What lens did you use? Try it with an ultra-wide angle.

    A good suggestion from randomway there,
    if only to show the tops of the trusses-

    Its maybe one of those pictures that sounds like a good idea while you’re going there,
    but doesn’t quite live up to expectations when you get there-

    It would make a great background-
    if there was a single point of interest at any level,
    the shot would be transformed,
    and the confusion of structure and shadow could be turned to advantage.

    Interesting picture,
    and good to see it at this scale-

    many thanks the widest lens I own and used is the stock 18 mm

    what would you recommend?
