So, how did you light this?

I get the feeling you may have cropped it so tight for another reason (is the light a bit strong along the nose/at the hairline/on her left sholder? not really) but I like it. It’s adds to the fealing of intimecy. Other wise I wan’t sure the expression wasn’t a bit … well … unballanced. The blueness of the eyes like that can come across as if some one is slightly distant and, perhaps, reserving judgement. Where as the smile and tilt of the head is so engaging.

Just had a play with Neat Image to reduce the noise but it wiped out the fine freckling in her complexion and left it looking over perfect.

I’ve no issues with the crop around the face. I like it in fact. I’m not so keen on the contrasty area in the background though. I’d crop this one square if it were mine (which of course it’s not- it’s yours!)

Frankie’s on my list of beautiful faces… :)

The background doesn’t really do anything for it, the expression is gaaargeous though :)

I dont like the background as I find it distracting, and that was very much an initial reaction (on which a lot of photos are ‘judged’). But after looking at it for a while I was so drawn to her eyes that it became less of an ‘annoyance’ and I really like it. The expression is super natural and almost flirtatious which makes it very appealing. I suspect Frankie herself loves it….

    See you Sunday.

It’s a nice shot alright but I think the focus is out a bit which is a bit of a distraction (in fact more of a distraction than the background, IMHO). I don’t subscribe to the view that both eyes have to be in focus but I do think that it makes an enormous difference which eye is in focus when you’re working with such a wide aperture. In this case, the far eye is much sharper than the near eye; I would prefer to see the near eye being the sharper of the two.

    Hi y’all

This isn’t my favourite of the bunch. On this one i think the crop is too tight to my face leaving it looking bigger than normal (or is that just a gal’s perception of herself?!?!) I don’t mind the background – but again i think it works better in some of the other images Ciaran has done for me. havign said this I like the shot and think it is a marked improvement on our last attempt hey Ciaran  Too busy gassing away last time!

Ciaran can you put some of the others we did up or can I or am I not allowed as I didn’t take the picture?

    Thanks

allinthemind…thank you! Wasn’t I going to work with you at one point but I just got a new job in dublin?? PM me!
