Hanging pictures

Hey folks! You always know the answers for my questions, I hope, you’ll be able to help me now. I’ve just moved to a new flat where all the walls are empty and shouting for haning my pictures on them. Before I would drill thousand holes I thought maybe you know a less obsstusive method to keep framed photos on the wall… like using those self adhesive hangers for the bathroom or something similar… Is there a way I could avoid drilling?
And if I’m already asking too much… is there a site about designing galleries?
GCPParticipantI have been looking around for hanging systems for the Studio walls as I’m doing the place up. I also hate the idea of boring walls afilling them up again at the next move, so i came upon this system (below) which I think I’ll install. I’ve had a look at it in action and it looks well and you can easily adjust levels. etc. as you move pics about.
Have a look. Hope it might help you.

randomwayMemberThank you Gerry, it looks exciting. I’m a bit on a tight budget, but I’ll see if it worth saving a bit… putting the pictures on a simple set-up rail is something I would like.
NialloParticipantHi there.
I use plastic picture hooks that you can buy in any decent hardware. Theres no drilling but you do have to use a small hammer to send them home. There’s 3 small pins at the top in a circular housing and a hook that hangs out from the bottom. There’s no mess and no fuss and you’re only left with 3 very small pin holes if youwant to take them out with a pliers. There are different sizes of hooks for different weights of frames/pics.
Hope it’s of use.andy mcinroyParticipantIn the house I moved into the previous occupants had driven home masonary nails for picture hooks. On removing them, big lumps of plaster came with them. Not good.
I wouldn’t be hammering anything into your walls. Pins won’t be strong enough and anything larger will wreck your plaster. Drilling small holes and rawplugs is the best (the smallest yellow rawplugs should do). Strong and nice and neat. Easily filled later too.

Looks damn good. I just got a system into the studio for hanging pics but this looks good also.
randomwayMemberThanks a lot for the link. I used nails this time, but this looks just what I was looking for. Someone is lthinking there like the consumers I think.

Hehe
All poducts have to have a gimmick to sell don’t ya know. I have perosnaly never tried these handy little things as I just hammer home nails into my walls and don’t worry about the mess.
But if these work they look quite fetching.
:D
randomwayMemberI’m wondering, where would you get these sytems in Dublin.. or is it better ordering them from the UK?
