ThorstenMemberPhew, these took forever and a day to load :( But worth waiting for. I particularly like the shots of Sami and Nikki. I like the urban feel of Sami’s shots and in fact don’t find the wheelie bin one bit distracting. And it should be obvious why I like the shot of Nikki – it’s those eyes again! What sort of post-processing did you do on that one (I don’t mean in relation to the eyes, but in relation to the overall hue/tone of the image, which really appeals to me).
All but one of your images have been framed horizontally with the subject generally in the middle of the frame. I presume this was a deliberate decision on your part. Had I seen this on a single image, I might have “moaned” about it but I personally think it works well when viewed as a series. Good work. I’m kicking myself I didn’t make the effort to travel up now.
gerardkParticipantThanks for commenting. I tend to frame landscape rather than portrait – I think it lends a more cinemascope -ish type of feel to portraits. I could only stay for 3.5 hours or so and there were 4 or 5 stunning models there that I didnt even get to shoot with- I think it was worth the travel.
The processing on the Nikki one – um I did about 40+ pics in the last 2 days so I cant remember specifically. There was the usual curves, levels, for some of the pics a red channel copied to a new layer then reduced in opacity and blurred it (cant remember the blending mode).
The eyes were masked throughout to remain as they were. A noise ninja layer too – applied that masked for only the skin and then reduced back in opacity. Some spot healing brush and selective sharpening of the models lips and eyes. I think I might have copied the final layer back as a new layer and tried different blending modes to get the iris colour just so – then masked it so that that was all that showed through. If I didnt do that on this Nikki shot I definitely did that on one of hers. Thanks for checking & commenting.
PeteTheBlokeMemberLovely batch of pics, even if they are a little large. In these days of image theft you might not want to give
so much away.I find myself drawn to no.2 for its clarity and simplicity. You have captured a lovely pose here.
