There doesn’t appear to be a huge amount of interest in my little announcement in the Events section-

    https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=8865

Here’s a few from a little while back-

I doubt if I’ll be able to take many this weekend,
but if anyone spots sail number 3170, out of all those boats,
I’d be interested in seeing your snaps-

No. 2 is beautifully framed. Number 3 looks like it doesn’t have enough colours.
How can they all lean different ways like that? Don’t tell me….I won’t understand.
No. 1 is nice, but I prefer 2.

    Cheers Pete the Bloke,
    thanks for the comments-
    interesting to hear your countdown-

I don’t have too many good sailing shots-
    But I like these ones-

Its usually not very windy whenever I get the opportunity to take pictures out there-

i was planning on going down tomorrow and maybe sat. i was looking at the map of the race areas,

where do you reckon the best place to view and shoot from is, west pier or where??

    Difficult call Steve-
I’d prefer the east pier, even though there is no access to the very end of it-
    apart from the rocks outside-

The west pier is good too though-

    Whichever you choose,
there’s no shortage of subjects for the camera-

The West pier would get you 200yards closer to where we’ll be sailing,
but there’ll be boats all around-

    From the East Pier

    Lovely weather for it-

The three sailing shots are nice agree with Pete on the second one, Like how the light is caught on the other two. Have you played with levels on them?

The other shots of Dun Laoghaire are nice, especially the HSS one.

Certainly better than any of the togs got of us. One bloke parked his rib right in front of us just as we went for the kite, just about got a shot … of us ballsing the whole thing up. (I prefer the action in shot 3)

    Thanks for the comments Ifor, rm;
    yes a weekend to remember-
    not-

All of these, with the exception of the West pier shot, have been printed large-
so what you see is what you get, mostly-

We didn’t really get the racing we wanted,
and too many races were called off.
Saturday afternoon had some spectacular light,
and I really regret not bringing a camera that day.

    There were stunning views everywhere,
would have been like shooting fish in a barrel.
(I need to get a picture of that too)

That photographer did get some stick for where he was parked-
and didn’t really get a good shot of us,
but I saw a couple of his prints in the RIYC after the first day, and they did look good-

But I’m quite sure its far more difficult to take good pictures of every one of 523 boats-

Anyway, here’s looking forward to the national championships in Howth in September-
    Thanks again for the comments-

ps, rm, did you get any pictures?
