My First Holgas
-
Jay KingParticipant
After a week of waiting I finally got my photos back from the shop! I used two rolls and was really just testing and messing around… here are some of the better ones that came out.
And this is me, from the same camera… but I didn’t take it obviously! (Thanks Dave!)
So far I have 8 altogether in my Flickr set
I wasn’t expecting much, infact I’m quite suprised that some came out better than I thought… Loading my first colour roll now!! :)
EddieParticipantThey are really good. Are these scans from the prints or negatives. The funeral directors shot could have been taken 50 years ago. Is it Camden St. The portrait on the steps College of Surgeons is also a fine shot. You have done really well, its so easy not to have to make any camera adjustments just focus and shoot. You are hooked now !
MTBIrelandParticipantBravo….they look great…… horse shot is my favorite…like Eddie said you just wouldn’t know when it was taken…. and yes its camden street…
jb7ParticipantThey look good alright-
every one a winner-Perhaps its the vaguely antique look to them,
reminiscent of a simpler time-
6×6 (and smaller, even 127) would have been contact printed-The frame is a little distracting though-
I presume you added them yourself?j
Jay KingParticipantThanks all… I’m happy with the way they turned out. It’s quite fun! I’m appreciating each exposure more now too, as apposed to filling up my 2gig card and having the advantage of picking and choosing from the LCD screen… disposing of the ones that don’t look too good. With a limited number of shots (and a pricey cost!) I’m a bit more thoughful of what and how I shoot.

Cheers Eddie, they are scans of prints that I got done. The scanner is an office 3in1 jobby so not the best conversions to digital, I had to up the contrast a little in each one. And yeah… I’m well hooked now! :D

Cheers dude… I quite like the horse one too… I didn’t even notice the old man when I was taking the shot, think he adds a nice touch to it though.

Thanks jb, nice feedback. Yeah I added the frames myself… actually the first one was an accident when I was cropping from the scan – left a border for safety… though it looked good but even before I posted them I started to have my doubts. Still not sure on them…
FlipflipParticipantHey, theyre great shots. Definately better than my first roll!!!
