AllinthemindParticipantI think you’ve overdone the eyes in these… The first shot (beautiful girl), would be even better with a bit of nearside shadow (move the main light to the left a bit) and a hairlight. Her eyes are very warm and they come out well. Did you do the “Paint with white, soft-light method to lift the Iriss on those frst 2?
Si
gerardkParticipantI particularly liked that Sami shot though I agree the eyes are a fraction too whitened.
ExpresbroParticipantI’d agree with Si about the eyes..particularly in the last two. Really like the two of your neice…they look more natural and you seem to have captured her look perfectly. The first shot is a real stunner imo.
united4meMemberImage 4 is the only one where i did work on the eyes and i agree i overdone it on that one. The eyes do look very white on the sami shot though i can’t remember doing anything to make them like that unless it just happened in the black and white conversion. I used the lab color method for that. Thanks for the feedback guys. Much appreciated.
AliParticipantYour niece is stunning! As said already, you can almost see the difference in rapport. I think the first shot looks a bit awkward, i think if you moved slightly to the left to make sure the model didn’t have to strain to look at you that would have helped. Love the expression in the second
yet i’m not convinced on the composition, it just seems that all of that negative space is of no value. Maybe a crop? I love the lighting in the third, perfect for her face, depth of field is spot on and a a result exceptionally sharp. Not sure about the fourth – it looks considerably softer than the rest and the colour balance looks slightly warm – the hands are considerably lighter than the face which is drawing my eye away from her face. I think i’d crop tighter on that one too.RobMemberExcellent shots, particularly the first three. I’d agree that the eyes look a little
overwhitened on the Sami shot, though as you mentioned yourself, that may be
down to your conversion.
The fourth shot, as Ali said, seems a little soft in comparision and as a result has
less of an impact. Nice set overall…Rob.
united4meMemberonce again i appreciate all you who have taken the time to give me some feedback.
