1st Macro/close-up – Strelitzia reginae
-
mrboswellParticipant
This was my first attempt at “macro” taken about 2 months ago. It’s abstract as the whole plant is beautiful but I doesn’t look well in photo’s as a full form. Thought I’d concentrate on a particular part of it…
C&C welcome,
Colmjb7ParticipantWelcome to the site mrboswell-
Some of the peeps here might take issue with 2 things-
the picture is not embedded in the post,
and when you click on it,
it opens very large-No matter,
I’m glad to have seen it-1600asa?
I’m a Nikon user, so I just don’t go there-
but I wonder if it was necessary for you to go there too?f/5.6 seems to work for you too,
in an abstract kinda way-The only thing I’d take issue with is the composition-
that strong out of focus diagonal on the left-
the rest of the image is kinda sublime,
as Pete the Bloke might say if he was still around-Lovely colour,
great first post-j
mrboswellParticipantThanks JB.
Sorry 1st post so need to get the upload right – I’m sure there are guidelines somewhere :shock:I wanted a bit of grain for effect but I think I set the ISO a bit high – spot on 1600.
The grain looks a lot worse when I posted it – my girlfriend liked it so it got it printed 15×10 and it’s really crisp in the foreground – just the way I wanted it.The left side is a bit unbalanced alright but it was the best of the lot – couldn’t really see it on the viewfinder at the time.
Regarding aperture, f/5.6 worked but as I’m new to this it’s very much a case of trial and error at the moment…
Have some more roses so I’ll try to get the post right with them…
mrboswellParticipantJ, I’ve held off on posting as I can’t seem to find info on embedding an image – Any pointers?
ThanksMarkKeymasterBeautiful MrBoswell. I really like tropical plants so this one is a winner.
By the way, there is a sticky in General Questions (maybe its the wrong place for it)
which should help on the posting of images. Although you seem to have got it right above.https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=5967
Welcome to the site by the way.
mrboswellParticipantThanks Mark,
I just got that one nailed down today so I’ll be getting more pics up as soon as possible.
Really enjoying it now…Noely FParticipantmrboswellParticipantSpot on Noley – It’s a lovely plant but not exactly something everyone would have in their conservatory :D
