So Johnny was back in the studio today…
-
JohnnyMcMillanParticipant
Did my first “proper” shoot in a studio today in about 4/5 years since college…
randomwayMemberI’m not sure if that’s intentional, but the left eye and face looks too dark to me. Annoyingly sad and interesting shot otherwise, I like it.
united4meMemberJohnnyMcMillanParticipantCheers! In the process of making a “how I photoshopped it” kinda tutorial thing that I’ll post up a link to when I’m done if people want.
J
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantRobMemberVery nice work Johnny.
I’m particularly impressed with the first of these.
That’s some really elaborate and intense eye make-up.
Fantastic expression in both images.
Post a few more from the session… please.Rob.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantThought I’d stick up some before and after shots so that people can actually see the work that goes on, instead of just posting up finished work…
FlipflipParticipantTwo quality shots Johnny. Especially for someone who hasnt been in a proper studio shoot in 5 years.
great make up too.
Mick451ParticipantReally Like those, Johnny, very strong images and the retouching is nice and subtle.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipanteasParticipantvery nice + creative work Johnney.
It’s funny how some average photos can generate loads of comments, while others that really stand out seem to be overlooked on here. I guess it’s all subjective really.
My subjective opinion is that these are great! :D
JohnnyMcMillanParticipanteasParticipantjust out of curiosity –
-what was the lighting set up?
– who did the make up?(much) less relevant –
– camera + lens?
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantIt was a simple one light set up with a beauty dish set up on a 500watt Bowens light with a little reflector from under her chin a little. They were shot mainly at 1/90 f.11 with a 50mm 1.4 on a Canon 30D….got another shoot with them on Tuesday…
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantAlso when I’m doing it again on Tuesday I’ll photograph the set up for ya… J
