Canon extension magnifer

has anybody used the 1.4 or 2x canon magnifer. need some extra magnification and would save money and space in the bag.
advice please.

I have a 1.4 teleconvertor, if thats what you mean
Its a useful way to extend your range, but its not great with any of the zooms I have, but work ok with the 400L
Have both. The 1.4x is fine with a f2.8 lens or tele F4. It does take some sharpness away as expected. I’ve only used the 2x when desperate! It takes away alot and you lose 2 stops….but I’d rather have the shot with it than without. If you’re buying, get the new mark2 versions as they’re weather sealed like L lenses, and a tad bit sharper. Well worth buying though as they’re one of the cheapest canon gear you can get…even if you don’t use them much…nice to have.
