There is nothing I don’t like about these photos.
They have energy and passion, which is much more important that anything else when it come to gig photos…IMO
I think the last one is my favourite, even if his face is mostly blackPaulGParticipantFor me I’d go 1 best, then 2 and 3. I think the light in the background to the centre of the frame on the first pic gives a way better composition than the other 2. The way it frames his hair looks great and gives alot more life to the photo. The expression and passion in that 2nd photo is absolutely top notch though.
The conversion of the first photo looks the best too. 2 looks a bit flatter or blacker (but not simply darker!)
Great stuff :)
eshortieParticipantThat 1st ones a brilliant shot I love the expression and as Paul said the light in the backround gives a great composition.
That 2nd ones got real emotion to it. Way better than my gig pics!Nice work! :)
rsjMemberiMoanParticipantI really like the facial expression you caught in the first pic. The angle of his head, giving a straight view of mouth/nose/eyes works really well for me.
It’s a pity about the floodlight behind his head, I always find them distracting when there’s another sufficient light source. FKoS are such a fast-paced band and I think you made the right call to capture this image while you could, rather than moving to the right to block the floodlight.
The second shot works well too, I like the composition and sharpness of the head banging member to the rear. The lead is close enough to you to record enough detail for his features without losing the focus on the other guy.I’m not mad about the last shot simply because the other two are better. There’s just suggestion of his face, with the rest of the light soaking into the guitar. B&W is working pretty well here and considering the high amount of shadow, you don’t seem to have compromised graininess for a higher ISO? Nice one :)
FlipflipParticipantFirst is definately the best.
Three great shots though.
Great energy and atmosphere.
