AliParticipantDavid_SParticipant
this is quite amazing ali !!
the only way i can describe this is that she looks like she is lit from within .. absolutely wow!
d
AllinthemindParticipantYes… Super shot, exposure as bright as is possible I expect, really really attractive piece.

sm323fMemberRobMemberBeautifully exposed Ali, and much better, softer expression from your model
than on the wedding dress shot. Make-up wise, I think the eye liner is probably a little
heavy for a blushing bride – if you squint, those two black frames just leap out of the
screen at you.
There is a bit of yellow tinge to the shadows, both on the inside of her wrist and on
the thumb of her other hand, but I’m sure that could be fixed easily enough.
Terrific light, and not a melted snoot in sight ;)Rob.
steelydanParticipantExcellent Ali, I can’t fault it in my eyes…But then again she has amazing eyes. Can’t see anything blown out regarding highlights, good details in the lace dress ,sharp. details in the hair all good.
AliParticipant:shock: Thanks a million all for the comments and critique :). Delighted with this shot, trying to get my panel together for the ‘A’ at the moment, so going mad shooting!. My third shoot is on Friday evening with a little diva :). So it should be interesting to see if she can busy some moves.
I haven’t a clue where the yellow tinge came out of in the shadows, thanks a mil Rob for pointing it out – i would have probably printed this without knowing :). The beauty of a third eye.
Thanks again all :)
tatianaMemberLucParticipantVery nice light, very soft.
And the background in wood in the same tones is great.
I would have two little regrets:
concerning the crop, IMO the head is either too “cut” either not enough.
The other thing is the make-up. Why does she have such a big black line around the eyes? the rest of the picture is in light tones, so for me that denotes.ThorstenMemberYep, gotta agree this is a lovely image. I do find the eye makeup detracts from the face though and there are two distracting verticals in the background which also caught my attention.
AliParticipantrichiehatchMemberI like it Ali…! Very nice lighting and perfect exposure.. to my untrained eye…!

David_SParticipantpersonally i love the dark eyeliner .. gives the picture a focus and real power amongst the ‘blinding light’ :) .. if the darkness was not there it would not have the contrast it requires.
beautiful image

Agreed.
The yellow shadows, I’m sure you know how to get rid of that Ali? This is how I’d do it..
New layer
Select skintone with paintbrush
paint in the shadow areas with the “nice” skintone,
blur a bit
change blend-mode to colour.Si
ThorstenMemberPersonally, I think the dark eyeliner makes her look “evil” and isn’t in keeping with the otherwise “angelic” look of the image – but that’s just me and maybe that’s just what appeals to others! But I also think it takes away from the eyes themselves, which actually look quite lovely if one looks hard enough through the blackness  Often times what works on a “live” subject doesn’t work in a photograph and while I generally find dark eyeliner quite appealing on a person when meeting them face to face, it doesn’t necessarily follow through that it will work in a photograph.
