  This looks like a shot down a microscope using reflected light.

  Cheers for the feedback folks. This was taken with a ringflash with exposure set at manual setting. Exif – Camera: Canon EOS 20D Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture: f/9 Focal Length: 150 mm ISO Speed: 100, Flash fired. The Shot was taken on a dull afternoon but with the small aperture and the relatively high shutter speed the background is black. This is a very extreme crop of the original which was mannually focused to 1:1. I would estimate maybe 2-3% of original (field of view <1mm.) MJ
