Took the below picture yesterday morning. Different post processing to what i normally post here. Basically just made a slight s shape curve and set the white point on one of the white parts of the cloud

Tried a few colour shots but the light was a bit to harsh (should have got up earlier but i had a hangover:-)) Link below to a colour shot

    Whoa!! What’s that!!

I’m getting tired. I’m scrolling aimlessly through threads I hadn’t seen over the weekend – some brilliant stuff but I’m in the humour that it’ll take something very different or more outstanding than normal to stop me. I’m now stopped.

This looks like a 3D image – those ones that kids get free with chewing gum…or the other way around, that move when you tilt them. The toning, or I suspect, combined toning really make the tower stand out. I really like the work on this, really different and works well.

    Great stuff Martin.

    Wounderful stuff Martin.
And the colour version on the link is a nice shot also.
I have now got a spare Canon 400D which i am interested in doing the IR conversion to.
Do you know of a site i could check out.

    Regards Neil

    Why is it always me?
I’m sure I’d like these more in mono-

    Must be an acquired taste,
    I suppose-

One thing has been niggling me since your last post,
the one that went without replies for a while-

If you don’t comment when someone posts a picture,
does this mean that you don’t like it?

    Just wondering-

    Very nice pic, Martin.

Only small suggestion is to clone out the street lamp and accompanying pole on the left.
    Well done.

I think the color version is a brilliant shot on its own right. Not sure about the conversion though, especially the landmass at the far right looks kinda out of place! But as jb7 said, its probably a taste that I haven’t acquired yet, I only wish I knew how to process images like this in PS!

Thanks all for the comments much appreciated. Glad most of you liked the post processing.

JB7, positron: Wanted to try something different as the pictures was looking to flat for me in B+W. Normally like B+W also but thought this image needed something to lift it. Will do a print in B+W and in the IR red type look above and see which looks best then.

TompixBandon: cheers for the suggestion about removing the street lamps might take them out but I?ll wait till I do a print to see how distracting they are.

RavenAsh: I used Bibble for the shot above. I use a mix of PSCS2 or Bibble Lite. Both of their raw converters produce different results. I find Bibbles a bit better for the IR stuff as it’s better with setting the white balance, which is very important with IR.

neilmcshane: Check out a site called http://www.lifepixel.com .I used these guys they are based in the US. I just bought the filter from them and opened the camera myself and put in the Filter. Beth on this site used these guys also and she sent in the camera to them to be converted, I think she was happy with the service also. Hope you get it converted Neil. Really brings out the mood in a picture and is excellent for recording clouds you get allot more details in them

Good to see some of you liked the colour shot also. Don?t think the colour shot will print very well though, should have got up earlier:-(

    Thanks again
    Martin
