I really love it when the tide is out and leaves behind all these interesting pools & rock formations.Tone-mapped in Photomatix.
Thanks for looking.
Apologies for not posting much over the past while, I guess that’s what being recently married does to you!  :DbethParticipantStevenHannaMemberossie13ParticipantMr.HParticipantGreat Colours, and composition Steven. I like the depth to it. However I do have a gripe with that orange stuff in the foreground. I cannot work out what it is and I am afraid curiosity is getting the better of me…. For me this has almost become the focal point of the image and I wonder whether this is your intention or not?
Glad to hear Mrs Hanna is keeping you busy. It gives the rest of us a chance :D .

RavenAshMemberI was drawn straight to the orange seaweed if that is what it is, on first seeing this shot.
Great combination of colours in the sky and detail in the rock. :)StevenHannaMemberThanks guys.
Yeah, I can see what you mean about the seaweed in the foreground. I hadn’t really spotted it before as being very dominant.Steven
PaulGParticipantLove it. I know what ppl are saying about the orange seaweed but it provides good foreground interest, (the only overpowering bit is the lump sticking to the rigth going out of frame) leads the eye in well and even if you had put a burnt out car in the foreground your eyes would be drawn to the arch and sky.
Brian_CParticipantRecently married and we didn’t get an invite.. tut tut tut.
It’s a lovely image, crisp, sharp, great colours, but I think I’m with Mr.H, the red seaweed in the foreground is a bit off putting, for me anyway. Sorry.
Steven, can I ask what you mean by Tone-mapping?StevenHannaMemberCheers Paul & Brian.
Brian – I took 3 exposures of this image. One at the correct exposure and bracketed 2 stops either side. This helps record all the detail in the shot. I then used a program called Photomatix, which generates an HDR version of the image.Steven
