Another Visit to Port Head

Visited port head on Sunday and Monday night (3rd and 4th visit). Below are two shots i took. Still trying to get the hang of sunsets.

Anyhow let me know what you think. Took Andy’s advice on taking pictures of still water and did not go above .6 on the grads. Also took Haukes advise on the second shot about the lower POV.

Let me know what you think, there are still not great but i think they are a step forward:-)

Martin, that first one is just stunning and I think you really have nailed that viewpoint.

You’ve also balanced the exposure perfectly. The 2 stops you’ve chosen seems to be bang on.

    Nice job

I agree with Andy. The first one is top class!
It has an almost outer-worldy quality,
like: ‘Triton rising over the Nitrogen Lakes of Neptune’

    The exposures are spot on,
though I wonder if the sky should not be a little brighter?

    Thanks Guys.

snaphappy: yea the sunsets are hard enough to take alright bit of a learning curve but its good fun trying

neilmcshane: You missed a nice sunset alright. You should give port head a go at some stage its a good spot

Thanks for the nice feedback on shot one Andy and Hauke. I’ll try a print of shot 1 as i think its the stronger image also. Not sure if the colours will come through into print but i’ll give it a go

    Thanks again
    Martin
