Straw Bails in IR
-
MartinParticipant
Never took photos of straw bails before so it was fun. Post processing for these was a bit of burning and a play with curves. The colour in these has not been added this is the colour that comes back from the IR camera
C+C welcome
Martin
RavenAshMemberThese are outstanding Martin. I have to go with the second shot as the fav, the sky is amazing .
mgstParticipantpositronMemberStunning shots, have to agree with others, sky is so intense, something is going on up there!
RobMemberGot to be the first one for me Martin.
While the others may have slightly more dramatic skies, I think it
may be a little too dramatic, to the point of making the entire foreground
(and the main subject of your images, i.e. the straw bales and stubble)
superfluous – in other words, all I can see is the sky. In the first however,
I see the entire image, beautifully balanced between foreground and sky.
Just my inarticulate opinion mind you…Rob.
ossie13ParticipantMartin stunning set of shots #2 just has the edge for me!!
Cheers Steve
alzaphodParticipantHI Martin,
No.2 all the way for me. You’ve sold me on the IR camera also. Defo gotta look into getting one converted for it.

AlanMartinParticipantThanks for the comments all. No 2 seems to be most peoples favorite. 1 and 2 would be my favorites. I’ll do a print of 1 and 2 i think and see how they look.
alzaphod: Hope you give the IR a go its great fun. All you need is an R72 filter to get you started will cost you about 60 euro
Thanks again
Martinjb7ParticipantI don’t know Martin-
I think I prefer your ir in bw, for a start-The toning here is far too heavy for me-
And, given the repetitious nature of the subject,
I think I would have preferred to see just one picture-
I’ve had another look, and I’m getting confused now-But if I had to choose one to go with,
I think it’d be the top one here-j
Ciaran O KeeffeParticipantDJHParticipantWhat a fantastic series I really like to color and tones … no. 2 is my fav
