My lunch break photograph – a car park!!

One thing that strikes me about these, and particularly the second one, is the simplicity (here i go again about simple images  ). There’s no distractions in the background just a plain, simple and complimentary suround. Even the water around the herons feet isn’t causing a stir. Perfect exposure and composition. You can’t loose with shots like the second one. The first shot is not as attractive to me for the fact that he’s walking away but the clarity is pin point.

Tis’ a nice pair of shots!

Thanks very much Alan, very high praise indeed. Must admit I was
fairly pleased with these myself, hence my reason for posting for critique
rather than straight into the ‘Book of Birds’ forum. Manage to run off about
twenty frames before he took off for fresh waters…

Both nice, but the 2nd takes it. It’s a real beaut. The green behind the (GREY) heron is
    perfectly framing the (GREY) heron.

I know you didn’t want to crop the nice ripply foreground, but I urge you to try it, just to see.

Love the second one. Love it. Only thing I’d change is the signature on it … and put my name in instead ;)

Have to agree with the above comments, the second is terrific. However had you not posted the second, I think I may have commented on how good a shot the first was anyway! You should be drip feeding us to get maximum kudos! :P

    cheers,

hey rob both these shots are super they are perfectely composed, framed and most of all is they are sharp as hell. Is the second taken with a higher ISO it just seems a tad grainier than the first not to the point that it takes from the the shot though ..

    good ones Rob-
    both of them-

    I’d go with the first,
although both should go in the book-
