Never there before until last week. So what better place to be, to try out my new Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro Lens.

    Nice Ravenash,

It’s a good lens that. I have one myself. Nice and light too.

I think I prefer the 2nd one here. A nice choice of composition and a good use of the reach.

I’m not quite sure about the bottom left. Perhaps you should have sat with your legs dangling over the edge. Hehe.

One thing to remember with the sigma 70-300, from my experience,
is not too zoom too far beyond 200 mm as it’ll start to get really soft.

You’re better off staying at 220 mm, or so, and later crop the shot.
The result tends to be better.

That second shot looks like you might have shot it with 300mm.
It’s quite soft, unless it’s a crop from a much larger image.

    Thanks lads.

You’re right Hauke, max it to 300mm. There was a very strong wind up there.
I will keep that in around the 220 as you suggested on its next outing.

Great pics Raven. Hope you enjoyed your first visit to the Cliffs.

Have you been to Ballyvaughan and the Burren yet? Fanore is another gorgeous beach in that part of Clare. Its been a while since I was in Fanore hope the roads have improved.

Afraid not but heading out again that way next weekend, fingers crossed the weather holds. :)
