Visitors to my Garden, Updated 26/02/2014
-
SeaviewParticipant
I will be updating this post throughout the winter as I capture the different visiting birds to my garden, I’ve set up a number of feeders and also put up a new bird table which I hope will attract a wide variety of birds to the garden. I got a lot of advice on here with the setting up pf the feeders etc, really appreciated. :)
Enjoy and keep an eye out for further updates.
Dave.

What lens did you use?SeaviewParticipantThe red fence is great, it was painted that colour for a reason. :D :D I’m using a 100 – 400 IS lens on a 7D, fine when the light is good but not so great when the light is poor. :( I’m set up inside a window and the perch is about 2m away and the fence is about 3m away from the perch.

BMParticipantSeaviewParticipantSome more House sparrows and an unidentified visitor, maybe I’m lazy but I didn’t really look to hard to see what he was, I’m sure someone on here will know.
shutterbugParticipantIt’s a female Chaffinch Dave, the male has a beautiful rosey pink breast,
Nice set, if you drill a couple of holes in the perch and put some peanut
Butter in they will stay longer on the perch.SeaviewParticipantThanks for the info Jenny, holes drilled already but I would never have thought of peanut butter. :D I actually identified the bird a few days ago but forgot to update this thread. I’ve out a bit of fruit over the last few days to try and encourage fruit eating birds to the garden, forecast is for it to get cold next week so I’m hoping that might improve things. The garden is still full of sparrows and very little else :( could be a lot worse I suppose.
