What’s the Story!!?

ExpresbroParticipantAlan RossiterParticipant
Now there’s a guy you’d love to have call to your door to meet your teenage daughter. Seems to have ambition, drive, prospects…I think not.
Great capture Robbie. (It is male, isn’t it?). One of the things I want to get into is candid photography but I think I’ve a long way to go given some of your shots.
alan.
ExpresbroParticipantI’m actually not 100% sure of the gender to be honest Alan…
As regards candid street stuff…it’s like any other type of photography…the more you try it…the easier it gets..and hopefully the better you get.
Come up and spend a few days in Dublin and we’ll go stalk the streets sometime… :D
RobMemberNice colours, sharpness and depth of field Robbie. Good expressions and
very well caught, and I like the sense of movement that the blurred hand
imposes on the image. The only niggle I have with this is that you might
have pulled back a little to include the hands of the guy on the left; it’s just
a little incomplete without them.
Nice work though. Very good street candid…Rob.
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Rob..and you’re spot on about his hands being chopped, but I was more concentrating on the couple’s reaction to whatever he was saying.
I have become more generally aware of stuff like that when I’m shooting..which is obviously a good thing…but unfortunately sometimes they sneak past me…hehe!!
Thanks for the comments guys 8)
SongforloMemberOh wow I love it! It’s the kind of shot that’s so evocative it makes you smile instantly! I think i’d be nervous to try take people’s pictures randomly on the streets! Did they notice you took the pic?
mgstParticipantI like it nice dept of field great colours and the expression is very well caught.
Mick
bingbongbiddleyParticipantIt’s great. Like the colours and depth of field. Inspires me to run around O’Connell St. with my camera.
What lens did you use for this?ExpresbroParticipantSongforio…..I don’t think so from what I can remember…they were too busy engaging in whatever conversation they were having with the Street performer.
It was actually him I had been shooting, then they arrived on the scene, as if by providence… 8)
Bingbongdiddly…(damn..gotta love typing that name!!)…Again..as far as I can remember it was the Sigma 70-300 DG APO on my Nikon D80. A highly regarded and cheap lens…I love it anyway.
Exif as follows:
Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture: f/5
Focal Length: 170 mm
ISO Speed: 160Thanks for the interest guys 8)
SodafarlMemberRobbie a great capture, the young girl/boy makes the picture (personally I think its a girl although hard to tell at times). I don’t think she is being very pleasant but the picture makes you think of so manty different scenarios which is why its so good. Good to see you posting mate I thought you had your camera amputated
Long winded again should have just said lovely pictuy=re.
SodaExpresbroParticipantThanks Carl… :D Nah..my Camera is surgically attached to my body and linked to my frontal lobe at this stage…
ImagineParticipantOf the couple he seems shocked/appaled she seems interested.
I’m wondering what he’s pulling out from out of shot, lol.
Great pic.
D.
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Imagine…
Been wondering that myself actually…should have hung around to check it out
