Nikon D40x with 18-135mm lens or with 18-55mm + 55-200mm len

  I’m moving up from Prosumer to dSLR and am settling on Nikon D40x. But I can’t settle on the lens option. I know the difference in specs but with no SLR experience, am I better off sacrificing the extra 65mm in zoom (200 less 135mm) in favor of not having to be changing lens just to get a closer shot? Or is the 55-200mm lens worth the little bit of extra effort? (Price difference between 18-135mm lens and 18-55mm + 55-200mm lens is only ?30 in favor of 18-135mm, so that’s not a factor here)
