CoveyParticipant
U15’s North Kerry. No photoshop at the moment so only processed in Picasa. All need more contrast.
Alan RossiterParticipantAll need more contrast
All look bang on to me and my monitors are calibrated. I haven’t done any of this sporting photography of any consequence yet so I can’t comment on the requirements but these do look very good. Sharpness in pin point and composition in the first 2 definately look good to me, number 2 in particular. The third seems a bitr muddled with the two hurlers intertwined but I’d imagine it’s hard to get many perfect shots from a game as fast as this.
Alan.
jb7Participantall look good to me too-
you had good light for these and you were well positioned for it-Would have liked to see the feet and legs,
and a rotation needed in one,
but very well caught, all-j
CoveyParticipantThanks.
Yeah light was great. All shot at 800iso and around 1/2000 sec. Could move where I wanted obviously, but only starting and getting shots at all is a bonus at the moment. Also 400mm is maybe too long for most shots!.
Sorry, which one needs rotating?
T.
Alan RossiterParticipantAll shot at 800iso
And no hint of noise. What was your weapon of choice? Canon?
CoveyParticipantCanon 20d +400mm 5.6.
There just thrown into Picasa at the moment so no PS or noise removal software. Impressed myself.

sean1098MembercarpedeumParticipantAs someone who takes GAA pics of my son’s team every weekend, I really appreciate these pics.
Hurling is a majestic sport and when captured well on camera really distinguishes us from the rest of the planet!
The 400 lens really does the biz.
Nice shots as they are… don’t tinker with them!
CoveyParticipantExpresbroParticipantFine fine shots Covey…what a great sport to shoot Hurling is. I’ve never managed to get to shoot a match yet…but looking at these makes me want to head down to my local GAA club nexct time there’s a hurling match on  I aslo don’t see any great need for extra contrast…they look really sharp and detailed to me. I’m amazed at the sharpness considering they were shot at ISO 800, although I suppose the 400mm means there was very little need for cropping, if at all, so that would help a little.
Again, great shots…enjoyed checking them out.
Robbie
8)CoveyParticipantThanx Robbie.
No need to crop much except to tidy up the edges. Nothing more than about 5 %.

RobMemberAll look good to me too Tommie, colours, sharpness and contrast
