Canon 40D and 580ex MK1 stcstcMember October 31, 2007 at 10:37 pm Hey guys i was trying to set up my 40D with my 580 to do rear curtain sync tonight. when i go to the customfunction for the flash control on the camera the camera says its not a compatible flash. Anyone come across this or know if i am doing something wrong??? richy5497Member November 1, 2007 at 8:03 am Only the 580EX II will allow all the functions to be done through the camera, the normal 580EX won’t :( stcstcMember November 1, 2007 at 8:20 am where did you find that info. the manual doesnt seem to say it stasberMember November 1, 2007 at 10:16 am Steve – but you know how to set it up for rear curtain sync normally, ie via the panel on the back of the flash, right? Just wondering, as the question wasn’t specifically aimed at wanting to control it from the camera. stcstcMember November 1, 2007 at 10:29 am yea, did know that but, i was able to set stuff from the 30d, the other one that was greyed out was the FEB stasberMember November 1, 2007 at 10:35 am What a bummer then.. Duly noted for my upgrade to the 40D in a few months time. I’m not keen on splashing out on a Mk.II… richy5497Member November 1, 2007 at 5:17 pm stcstc wrote: where did you find that info. the manual doesnt seem to say it Do you ask a Bird how it flies?
