Guess who’s back? – Blackrock Sunrise…
-
RodcunhaParticipant
Long time no see ladies and gents, due to unforseen and circumstances I took quite a long break from shooting, today though I was coming out from work and the sky just asked for the camera, rushed home, grabbed tha backpack and headed to blackrock (breaking all speed limits, hope there’s no Guardai here if there is stop reading the bracketed words they are not for you!). This is the first edit, but in all fairness not much of an edit, what i did was a little sat (about 10) minor curves adjustment and sharpness.
Nikon D80 + Sigma 10-20mm 14mm
Aperture: F/18
Shutter Speed: 1s
Heliopan Circ. Polariser
Lee 0.6 ND GradualI’m quite happy with the results but as usual would love to know what you guys think of it…
Thanks,
SeaviewParticipantVery nice image, beautiful colours and the exposure looks great.
Dave.
RodcunhaParticipantossie13ParticipantPeteMcDMemberThis is great. The texture in the sky balances well with the texture in the rocks. I like the depth and the highlights are well controlled.
Good one! Do you have these little spots scoped in advance so that you can dash there when you see the sky starting to pop?
RodcunhaParticipantThanks Steve and Pete,
This one was actually scoped beforehand not the particular spot but the area, when I went there today I seen another spot that I have to return to in the future! I usually take mental notes on things like sun’s position, tides, etc… for instance this spot is totally out of the question on high tide…
Cheers for the comments guys!

Well done Rod. A powerful shot.
Go and print it!lousyParticipantrandomwayMemberWho would think that’s Blackrock, the ugly, grey place with the concrete walls and littered beach…. I think, it’s like the butterfly and the coccoo… the beauty lies beneath.. ‘n stuff. Very nice capture!
Brian_CParticipantconstantineParticipantAll said above Rod, brilliant shot, and like me, you are back from a wee sabatical away from the boards.
Good to see you.
