LudaParticipant
I got in and out in between rain showers. I’m a stealthy PhotoNinja? :)
RobMemberReally like this square format Luda. The first one’s
a cracker, though it does need rotation to bring your
horizon level. Aside from that, I’d happily hang it
on my wall. Excellent…Rob.
constantineParticipantTwo cracking shots there luda. First one needs a straigthen as Rob says, but I really like these two.
Well done.
VAubreyMemberLudaParticipantI only noticed the horizon after I’d put it online.
I frequently miss that. I’m going to buy one of those hotshoe spirit levels.MartinParticipantReally like the 6×6 look and the post processing. I can see what you were trying to do with these. I think the composition is not 100% though.
First shot i would straighten the horizon and pan the camera down more so that say the horizon is at the top 3rd line, and possibly a step or two to the right
Second is nice and the nicer of the two i think, would of panned the camera up a bit, too much tree trunk (but the 1st with slightly better composition would be the clear winner)
Really nice well done, sorry if you think im nit picking but i think if you can get the composition right with this 6×6 look, post processing and long exposure you will get cracking shots. Some very nice shots on your site
M
LudaParticipantNot at all, you’re right.
Taking my time is top of my to-do list.
I’m not even completely satisfied with the top of the jetty being almost ON the horizon, nevermind it being wonky. :SGfoxParticipantTwo great shots there.. Lots of atmosphere.. Its so difficult to get out these days, its either too dark or milling rain… I really like the first one..
cathaldParticipantsean1098MemberTwo great shots there,as already said the processing is spot on.I think martin already mentioned to much sky in the first one for me aswell. But its still my favourite,
Sean.
richiehatchMemberStunning images… both of em… although I do agree with Martin about the compositions…. I really like your stile of processing and cropping. What are the exposures on these 2 images…? Are you using ND filters or just getting up really early…?
Richie
Mr.HParticipantVery Nice Luda – especially the top one. I think they’d look great printed and framed appropriately.
I’m also intrested in finding out more about exposure details.
Gary
LudaParticipantCheers.
The first one was a 17 second exposure using an ND8 filter.
The tree image was 52 seconds. It was only about 30 mins later but I had on a polariser aswell as the ND8. (Both 77mm screw-on filters on a Sigma 10-20mm lens)
Both were shot about 4ish in late December light, so it was the fading light.I’ve just ordered an ND400 so I can use it for long exposures during normal overcast days and hopefully get 3 minute exposures.
Once it arrives I’ll be clocking up the mileage all over the Ards Peninsula. Can’t wait.jb7ParticipantNice ones both- lovely tones-
and for me, another example of a picture where the horizon is up for grabs-
I wouldn’t have a criticism of the angle in these ones-
it suits the composition-I heard of another way to approach this subject Water) at a Les McLean Lecture,
organized by Fintan and The Fizz before christmas-multiple exposures-
25 pictures at 1/25 sec, if the meter indicates a second, for example-Haven’t tried it myself, but it looked convincing-
nfl-fanParticipantRedskins thrashing the Cowboys… heading to the playoffs!
Pic #1… clean, simple, effective, great conversion.
