Roe Valley Bridge..

  • As titled this is a shot of the narrow bridge and under flowing Roe Valley river that leads into the country park in limivady. Takin in RAW with a Sigma 10-20, f22, ISO 100 and about a 46 sec exposure if i remember right. It was just gettin dark and i had a grad filter on also. Converted and processed with Lightroom and mounted in CS2 :)

    Excellent snap there RGH.

The puddle in the foreground is sharp and the reflections are interesting, then the movement in the stream coupled with the bridge in the background are all class.

Vignetting adds to the overall effect nicetly.

hey rgh I love the foreground in this shot the way you have still sharp water with moving milky water not sure i like the top 10% ofthe shot though the sky isnt great and imho the branches seem to clutter the shot it might benifit from a crop.

Yea its the only thing i dislike about the shot ! I was in two minds weather to post it or not because of the top 10%… and its no better with a crop as to keep the standard ratio you lose to much of the foreground. Saying this it could be cropped to any old shape or size but i like to stick to standard ratios myself.

IMHO I think that the image is strong enough not to have to worry too much about the top 10%… the puddle, the stream and the bridge far outweight the sky and the branches

Humm.. looking back on this one… really like it… but one slight fault perhaps… very dark along the top left side, nearly pure black, a little detail would be nice. Still a fine pic though

Yeah there is a building up in that corner which was qutie distracting and to large to heal out, so slight burning was the only option.

Excellent shot there RGH, the foreground is the one thing I’m not sure on though,

the shot seems to be strong enough to endure a crop of the foreground,

seems a wee bit cluttered in my opinion, but still a great shot.

Love the foreground with the reflections of the branches and the silky water leading
you to the bridge. The only little niggle is the darkness on the lhs.
