Right heres the news .I have been putting prints through the printer all evening. I must have ruined 15 prints trying different settings.

Then i went back using my laptop and every print was perfect.I know that its probably on the settings side of things, but i find the imac nearly impossible to use when printing.so have decided that if i cant get it to work tomorrow.some one can have the b****y thing before i smash it  .

I will be knocking a couple of hundred of quid of so i can replace it with a new desktop.

I’m just curious as to why you got it in the first place?

An interesting point, as I am looking to get out of the pc market. Just wondering what kind of printer you are using?

    You should try using ColorSync-

its in the print settings, under color management-

You should be letting the printer determine the colours-

You should be soft proofing in ps- inasmuch as its possible-
it should be possible to download profiles for your paper and printer,
if you don’t have them already-
and these might give some idea of how the print should look-

View- Proof setup- to select combination-
View- Proof Colours- to get a preview-

    these things work for me,
    YMMV-

    After that, I dunnno-

Thanks Joseph for info, but i have tried everything.tried coloursync, tried printer manages ,tried photoshop manages.changed settings a hundred times.

just for the sake of it,i tried one just now after printing 15 great pics from my laptop, and got the same lines running down the picture. Im truely puzzled.

    thanks

make sure you have the latest drivers-

after that its between you and apple-
Have you called them and talked to them?

You’ve got Applecare for the first three months-
    which includes some tech support-
    any problems, call them-

    so call them-

Give me a call Sean, might be able to help you out with it.

If not, a new iMac sounds cool;-)
