Galway Camera Shop (Canon Dealers)

monoParticipant
Does anyone know of any other canon dealers,
real tired of the snotty attitude in this shop,
was in yesterday pricing a Canon 100-400mm EFS lens,
Salesman was a right uppity a$$hole, just cause i am a student he must think I was just taking the pee.
So moving my business elsewhere, that is if I can find another Canon dealer in the region.paulParticipantFor a good price, brilliant service – try Kea-Photo on Ebay. You’ll probably save a lot of money.
TrimLadMemberPaul, Do you know if import duty has to be paid on items bought from Kea-Photo because the are in Hong Kong?

constantineParticipantYour best bet for canon gear is online mono, the Galway Camera Shop hold a very limited stock, and wouldn’t be cheap, as you probably know yourself.
As for friendly-ness goes, I ain’t gonna comment (but I do know what you mean….)

nfl-fanParticipantThere’s many things in life that piff me off… but snotty sales people has to be top 5, if not top 3.
Bought my first car back in 1999… vowed that I’d change it every 2 years… so 2001 comes around, I head into a local dealers… still have the same car today…. nuff said.

Yep, that’s a bit of a saving alright. :D
GCPParticipantThats a hell of a saving ! Irish dealers may need to re-think a bit outside the box. I found this to be the case in all things around 2003 and moved outside the country to get most equipment and supplies. Then in the past 2 years things began to change with albums and general supplies and Ireland got back into line but the camera equipment is still on the high side here so I have not bought any of my digital cameras or lenses in Ireland ever.
SheldonParticipantWe used to stock Canon products but we kept coming up against the pricing issue. Answer from Canon was that they sell all stock allocated to Ireland without needing to discount………………..
We don’t stock Canon products anymore!
