Hi to all, now that I’m up an running on the forum I was wondering could anybody suggest a monthly mag (or is this query ok?) which would be most suitable to a total beginner in the world dSLRs?
regards to all.
Brian_CParticipantnfl-fanParticipantDigital Photo is excellent. Is accompanied with a CD full of Video Tutorials and other bits and pieces which are extremely useful, learned most of what I know from these. Comes from the maker of Practical Photography.
lousyParticipantI will concur with nfls post, this is a most interesting and informative mag-
PatExpresbroParticipantAdd Amateur Photography to that as well…as it is the cheapest of the photo mags as well..and often has an instructional DVD attached.
Also there was a guy giving away a batch of Photography mags in the For Sale section recently. Might be worth checking out.
nfl-fanParticipantMight be worth throwing your eye over Digital Photo and Practical Photography’s website http://www.photoanswers.co.uk
Loads of free video tutorials and other useful info.
Just finished this video tutorial which I found very useful:

It also comes with a DVD which has some great photoshop / photo elements tutorials. Great mag for a beginner.
Dave.
kellyseyeParticipantHave to say i prefer Digital Camera Magazine, has the same free stuff as other mags…CD’s and all but i think its always full of helpful tips.
Good website also http://www.dcmag.co.uk/later
DerekBig FellaParticipantI am with Seaview on this one. Tried the mag just before christmas and as said is totally dedicated to Canon users. I found it very helpful. (Thats if you use a Canon.)

wrongfontMemberThanks guys. Got Digital Photo and it looks v good. Will continue to suss out this and other forums for more fantastic advice. Regards.
ThorstenMemberI have to say that I find Digital SLR User Magazine makes a refreshing change from the rest.
FlipflipParticipantPractical Photography is very good for beginners, but you will definitely start to see repetition in it after some time.
I dont really read many magazines so thats my only advice.

I’ll second that. One of the best magazines out there.
