 No, HDR is a process you put a photograph through to balance the highlights and shadows. You’ll find more info here : http://www.hdrsoft.com/examples.html

Looks like you’ve been looking at Mr Miagi’s portfolio too. It’s a nice angle but there’s some detail lost in the shadows but I am looking at this on my laptop so I could be waaaay wrong.

Knew I could rely on you, even without asking.
Thanks Alan I’ll have a look at that.

Really I knew it wasn’t but I fiddled around so much I said I’d post for the craic.
Having to delete a lot of stuff due to lack of space on HD, so really scrapin’ d barrell

I like the shot and would be very happy with it if I’d taken it.

One comment, though I could be wrong, I think I can see “brush” strokes where you worked on the sky? These could perhaps be blended better?

I’m a beginer so excuse if I’m wrong.

    Alan.

Actually no its not. I see a lot of talk on this and other forums about hdr. It seems that most people confuse tone mapping with hdr. Tone mapping is a process of balancing multiple exposures to create on image, or adjusting the high and low light areas of an image to balance it.

True high dynamic range imagery is a 32 bit image which closely resembles the levels of luminance found in real life without clipping pixelation or distortion. It should have a minimum of 11 ev in traditional terms. To put it basically.

But wonkafan is still correct , your image is not hdr.
