Ballintoy

One from the archives, this was taken a short distance from the Elephant Rock, near Ballintoy on the north coast.
Thanks for looking :Dandy mcinroyParticipantI’m not so sure about the composition on this one Steve.
The foreground block on the left tends to block me in rather than lead me through.
The colours are gorgeous though and the contasting mixture of the seaweed together with the chalk and basalt pebbles are very nice.

StevenHannaMemberThanks for the honest critique Andy.
I’m still a little undecided about the foreground myself. In one hand, yes, I think it may have a lot going on, however, I really like the texture of the rocks on the LHS, almost “scale” like. This is definately somewhere I plan on going back to, plenty to photograph.Steven
DJHParticipantI not in any real position to critique, but just wanted to add that this photo has a “Wow” factor for me … great photo
nfl-fanParticipantThis is sharp, full of colour & quite pleasant to look at. Compositionally the foreground is very busy… doesn’t hurt it in a major way though. The only thing that bothers me is the sky… it looks really strange… like it was applied with water paints.
Taken with a 5D by any chance?

The same thoughts here.

StevenHannaMemberlousyParticipantIt certainly is a lovely image, but I do find myself trying to climb the foreground rocks, my eye doesn’t flow through, other than that I like it
PatDeeboParticipantI think its a lovely shot, but I do agree with some of the above.
The rocks are magnificent and the textures and colours are supreme on these. Can you give some advice on how you took this shot and what you did post processing.
Cheers, Dee
LWheelerParticipantGreat photo. Beautiful light and lots of detail in the foreground rocks.
