    Hello All
Im a newbie here just found out my login information so i decided id post :D
Im going to be going to athea road races this year (went last year to)I had my canon eos 300D and my 90-300 lense some of the results where good but i couldnt really get a good spot on the track!so alot of the shots where from the side more than straight on .Iv now upgraded my camera to a 20D and recently got a battery grip

    Theres a few shots

    Well i have two questions.
First of all if i save and my birthday is before the event i might have enough for a 70-200 f/4 do i need this will it improve image quaility(sharpness)and focusing speed..Also i was thinking of changing my lense to the sigma 70-300 apo dg version will this be any better

Secondly what are the chances of me beong able to get some sort of press pass for the event as iv love to be in where the petrol staion is for good photos of the bikes going round the bend :?:

    Many Thanks

If you are going to change the lens, keep saving for the 70-200/4 as it’s one of the sharpest lenses out there.

I had the sigma 70-200 F2.8 at the TT races last year and it was excellent. You could add the convertor to it, but for most shots 200mm was enough.

Re Press passes – now they really are the holy grail :-)
