This is the closest thing to a castle around here.
WWII Battleship U.S.S.Wisconsin.

It reminds me on magazine covers in the nineties.. interesting work. I like the format you have chosen for this slim shape. Did you deform the ship to be this slim or is it like that in reality?

No deform thats the way it’s built.
I have veiws from other angles that I will post later.
Haven’t had a chance to go throuigh them yet.

Has hints of HDR to it. If it is, it works well as a HDR to bring out all those subtle tones of grey and give it great texture. Great composition with the slim framing. Love the crispness in the flag too, very hard to get a flag flying so straight.

Love the angle on the first one Jim and the HDR effect really suits it, the sky looks great… slight halo but who cares.

Great shot!
Very impressive but not menacing – an not a gun in sight!.
The view reminds of of some 1940s style graphics – a bit like Sky Captain and the worl of tomorrow.

I agree with the processing. Well done.
But the halos around the anchors and the sides does ruin the effect a little imho

I’m fairly new to this post processing stuff so any guideance as to avoideing or removeing Halo’s would be helpful,

Yes the top one is pretty special alright. It’ll look fantastic printed large. It’s a very unusual viewpoint, and nicely lit. It may be worth reprocessing the bit around the top right or the ship. Theres a bit of a halo? Or is this the sun?

Eyes opened wide when I see this early this morning. Was on the way out and didn’t get a chance to post.

Best image you’ve posted to date.

Best image I’ve seen in a while.

HDR put to extremley good effect.

It’ll be hard to improve on this.
