    Hi Spud,
The last one does it for me – great texture coming off the rocks, drawing you nicely towards the fiery coulds. Haven’t tried HDR yet myself so not sure quite what you’ve done but “I likes what I sees”

i used photomatrix pro and cs3 to tidy them up. i found the HDR merge in cs crapy bu the photomatrix was fantastic and easy to use.

ive also printed these off and the last one is the best one printed

and thx for the c&c alan

To be honest spud the first 4 wouldn’t do anything for me as they are overdone IMO.
#5 has something goin for it as the texture in the rocks is nice as is the water/sand at LHS, and you’ve got a nice sky but it’s too 50/50

    spud –
Glad to hear you got the bracketing sorted out! #1 and #5 are the best of that lot in terms of HDR technique – they are the only two that look natural. The others are overcooked, particularly in the foreground. The foreground is brighter, or as bright, as the sky. This looks very unnatural, and is a common failing of people starting out with HDR.

That being said, #5 is nicely composed and well-executed HDR-wise. The foreground looks very natural and the HDR has ensured that the shadows are nice and open, without being too bright.

    Cheers,
    Peter

thanks for your comments peter means a lot to a new comer like me :) tbh im not a fan of number one my self i think its the Rock in the foreground that kills it on me as for number 5 that seems to be the fave amoung family and friends too :)

here is one more from on top of the rocks, does this one look ok ? i like the look of it myself

OK so I don’t know much about landscapes (or anything for that matter) but wowwwwwww boy on the saturation.

1 and 5 are ok but 234 are a little over the top.

They look like something from a planet on startrek rather than Ireland.

I’m not saying that they aren’t nice but I’ve never seen anything like those in real life so I guess how good they are depends on what you were trying for.

Good job on HDR though something I’ve yet to try.

Spud, I just re-read my last post and realised it might be seen as very critical. I like them and wish i could duplicate them but some of them the colours are just too vivid for me (or perhaps it is my monitor) the greens being the big offender.

I#d be curiors to see what they looked like with the green satursation turned down a little.

And if these are your first atttemp i can’t wait to see the next set.
