Circus Festival Ireland

Had a blast on Saturday, I had no idea what to expect, thinking it might be more community circus than anything else. The quality of the acts was outstanding and there was a wide variety of international acts too. There were two sell out shows, the first was more a family show, and proved extremely difficult lighting wise. The second had a bit more swearing in it, and the programme a little more varied. It was absolutely jammed, leaving me with only one shooting position.
Anyway, a few from the day, hope to get some comments on them. Loads more where they came from. Thanks.

FlipflipParticipantstasberMemberThanks Tim, were you also at the shows in the Firkin Crane or at the Renegade shindig in the Imperial?
Comments/feedback from anyone else is welcome too..
FlipflipParticipantAfraid I wasnt.
Was busy with other photo work. Photo Editor has stolen my soul. Haha.
pihjinMemberHee heee… I was just about to upload some photos from a fringe festival and didn’t know where to post them, then I saw these so I guess this section is right!
I love these pictures… the lighting looks as though it was really good for them.
My favourite is the first picture. I just love the light and shadow.
It’s a shame you weren’t a little more face-on for the last picture though.Pihjin
stasberMemberThanks Pihjin! What do you make of the first one? I think it has potential, someone on another forum commented that the contrast needed tweaking, which I’m all for, just not sure how to get the best out of it. My pp skills have a lot left to be desired. I tend to kill what could otherwise be great pics. Much learning to do.
I have many more of the last act. For that pic though, yup would have been nice, though I had nowhere to move to adjust the angle.
pihjinMemberAs I say my fav. is the first one.
I’d like to have given him a TINY bit more head room.
I’m not sure about the contrast change though. I’d certainly give it a try… work your curves a little… but it could be hit -or – miss as to whether or not it makes an improvement.
