Kood and hoya filters on ebay

i see some fairly cheap kood and hoya polarizing and neutral density filters on ebay. is there any reason i should steer clear of them?
I think it’s the fact that most are sourced in Hong Kong, that they appear cheaper. Best bet is to stick with the best know Ebay sellers such as Kea, Digital Rev etc and buy from there.
is there a list of reputable ebay stores? both of the ones mentioned (Kea, digital rev) only either do ND8 filters only( no other types) or dont have them at all.

Great quick service for Cokin filters, you may want to look at the Cokin P system which you can buy adapters to fit different lens rather than the screw in type?

This was something I was wondering about myself having looked at ebay. Does anyone have experience of Kood filters?
I too have bought from the same eBay seller as Big Fella on numerous occasions.

Kood and Cokin are pretty similar me-thinks. They both provide pretty decent quality filters but at a fraction of the price.
I have all my lenses fitted with Hoya UV filter, more for glass protection than anything else. I bought the top-end filters from Kea-Photo on eBay.
I recently ordered a 77mm Top End Hoya CP filter from URGalaxy on eBay but after 5 weeks it never showed up. Didn’t respond to my e-mails, had to file a complaint with Paypal, about 5-6 days after the complaint he granted me a refund. Not great service.
which are better, the screw on filters or the cokin setup? I have used neither so id like some comments. il be getting 3 ND filters to start off ( 2,4,8)

I use the Cokin P Filters….this saves you having to buy a set of ND’s for each lens, you just get a holder plus the adapter to fit the lens ie 62mm, 77mm……..therefore this works out cheaper, also if you will be using Grads you can easily slide these up and down the holder.
Also look out for the ND set which gives you a holder plus ND2/4/8

The Cokin/Lee/Kood adapter system and square filters havre the advantage that you only need one set of filters to cover all your lenses, just requiring appropriate adapter rings for each lens size. The disadvantage is that they’re bulky, and the resin filters can be easily scratched. If you want to use ND grad filters, then they are your only option, otherwise for polarisers (polarisers for filter systems tend to be expensive due to their size), straight ND filters and the like, there’s probably not much in it one way or the other

list the top 10 filters that you would buy i.e must have say for landscape and weddings etc.
I have a screw in polariser and it does the job fine, but for my half grey grad filter the screw in can cause problems. The reason for this is that my lens and some other tend to rotate to focus and this causes problems. So ui would recommend that full filters such as uv or polariser to go screw and holder kit for the rest, but im relatively new to filters so probs best to listen to the more seasoned guys

I bought a full kit p series holder nd grads 72mm ring adapter all from surryphotographic for about 50 quid great service i had it in 2 or 3 days went for this option as i think the lee system is very expensive
