The Rose that Froze

A couple of experimental ones for me, so I’d be interested in how they go down. Taken on a frosty morning a few weekends back. Quite what this rose was doing in bloom in feb I don’t know.

I have reduced saturation on these so they are a little subtle (and probably a little soft too)

    Thanks for looking

    #1 is just another rose.

I love the texture of #2. Seems like ricepaper somehow, though I know it isn’t. The top section is a bit soft but the petals in the foreground are so subtle – gorgeous. Good sense of depth too.

Number two’s a beauty Gary. Lovely soft tones in contrast
to the brittleness of the subject. Could just as easily have
been posted in the Abstract section…

Thanks Pixelle & Rob. Glad you like the second one – wasn’t too sure if it was a bit monochromatic. It was hard work trying to stop the droplets looking like some sort of fungus/disease.

The top one seems a bit soft where it counts-
    I like the second-
    except maybe for the colour,
    particularly at the top-
might suit a delicate conversion, maybe-

Love the second one, simply gorgeous :)

Thanks Vanessa, & jb – I’ll pop an attempt at a conversion up when I get the chance.
