Empire State Building

This is my first attempt at Tone Mapping from a single RAW file
C&C appreciated
Cheers Steve
DenverDollParticipantHi Steve~
I am far from an expert on HDR..have tried only a couple of times..so can’t give you must advice there but I like this shot. It’s a clear vantage that isn’t often revealed in the plethora of shots of this famous building. You did well.
It’s charming and gritty in an endearing way. Makes me laugh that it gives the impression that the entire Empire State building is up for rent.Sharon
ossie13ParticipantThanks Sharon……..only a humble beginner at HDR!!
Yes glad you got the “For rent”, posted a similar original on my Flickr under that title!!

Alan RossiterParticipantHi Steve!
I like this – OK, the light and shadow around the building is a little odd but the comic book effect on the buildings looks great. I’ve never been able to get this finsh no matter what I tried. Love the “For Rent” sign. Bet the monthly costs are excessive!

jb7ParticipantI had a look in the other place,
and I definitely prefer the other one-I suppose I’m not a big fan of the heavy processes,
but it suits the other one better-If I were to be really rude,
I might say that you’ve managed to make this one seem almost two-dimensional,
but I’m working on that,
so I wont-This one is the more recognizable location,
which is one reason why I suppose you put it up here,
but I think the other one makes a better picture-Would be interesting to see them both here-

irishshaguaParticipantLooks like the shadow on the building has translated into a shadow (or underexposed) sky to the right of the building which looks a bit weird. Great angle on the building but I think this needs more work to remove the weird errors in the sky.

DenverDollParticipantHi again Steve~
Just took a browse through your NY set.
You’ve got some good ones there!

ossie13ParticipantMany thanks one & all, as I said this was my first attempt at Tone mapping :?
Joseph here’s the “other one”
Thanks again Sharon!!
Cheers Steve
jb7ParticipantSteve, I actually meant the other tone mapped one-
the one of the water towers-
