How to project camera settings.

I’m looking to find out how to go about connecting a camera to a laptop/PC which in turn is connected to
an overhead projector. The purpose is to be able to see the camera settings (aperture, shutter speed etc)
on screen as if you were looking through the view finder.
Just wondering if particular cables or software is required to achieve this.
    Thanks,
    Martin.

This is possible on the Canon 40D using Liveview and connecting to the PC via the supplied USB cable.

i think you can do it with most of the canon cameras

can you maybe do it with nikon control too with nikon cameras?

With the remote liveview function, you can fully control the camera – down to menu settings as well as ISO, shutter speed, etc. You can even zoom in on a particular part of the image to check focus accuracy.

This is what it looks like:

The liveview is obviously the large screen on the left. The control functions are on the right.

Thanks Brian and Steve for the information. I’m looking at trying to use this as a teaching method in a camera
club that I am involved with. One of our members has recently taken possesion of a 40d so I’ll follow it up with
    him.

    thanks,
    Martin.
