Because this is so dark I think the DOF is too shallow for this shot. With no background to distract you I think the whole flower should be in focus and then use light to shade off areas that you don’t want to be as strong. Just looks like I’m missing something with the OOF areas.

Thanks Brian, I’m not sure about this picture either, but there is something I like on it and I can’t explain.. :)
