Hi All,
was goofing around today with wireless flash…
any thoughts or c&c greatly appreciated…

that’s what caught my eye too…the light in the background…
I metered for the sky and let the ettl do the rest,

Nice shot. I think the sky in the background is a bit too over-exposed. I like the look of the moss though and you’ve definitely got yourself a poser there in the the model :lol:

I did pull the light in the background back a bit but it seemed , well, out of proportion somewhat, if that makes sense…
perhaps I’ll post that version and let you decide for yourself…

It’s another method i’ll have to write down in the little book! It does have the nice affect of focusing all attention on the subject (your daughter, I believe?). The surrounding features like the trees, rocks and sky only help to frame her in the shot.

Alan, yep, my daughter indeed…took a large bribe of chocolate to get her to pose…
Beef, No diffusion on the flash…I did have a shoot-through umbrella with me but i forgot the attachment for it…it absorbs a lot of the flashespower as well,

Unusual shot, but I’m afraid it doesn’t work for me – the background is too “flat” looking. :)

Nice shot. I think I would like to see another light fill in the tree and maybe the background opened up a little.
