Sport? People? Street? Or just a broken promise…

Alan RossiterParticipant
I promised I wouldn’t post another Moto Cross shot but I think this one justifies it’s posting. I had to post in Everything Else as it’s neither sport, people or loosely street. My question is – where does your eye go??
Alan.

This is a classic sports imageNice B/W work, this is the kind of image that could be on a Sunday newspaper:):)
This is a Sunday sport photo:)
cathaldParticipantWell caught Alan but to answer your question my eye wanders around the image but keeps going back to the sky

ossie13ParticipantAlan great capture…………………………………but the answer to the question is 42
Cheers Steve
PixelleMemberMy question is – where does your eye go??
Dithering between the figure on left and ET in the middle..
Alan RossiterParticipantThanks for the replies. 42 indeed Steve. I told you that guinness was bad for you!
This actually is probably my favourite for quite a while. I printed this off this evening and the detail doesn’t get shown as well on screen. Maybe it was the fact that I was there and know what was behind me and what was going on but I thought the interaction, or non interaction between the 3 main subjects fascinated me. They all seemed to have different agendas, all there for the same interests but divided when they get there. Also the seemingly emptiness everywhere else isolated them. You won’t see that from just a 800×500 pixel illumination. But that’s just me…
ET…goin’ home!
Alan.
BrickeeParticipantGreat capture Alan, I can see why it’s one of your favorites. Really grabs my attn.
ExpresbroParticipantI’ve come back to this a few times now Alan, and I think for me..my eye is drawn mostly to the bike..because it’s the only thing in the photograph that is not where it’s meant to be….ie..on the ground.
For me that’s the problem..and I think this might be where the screen size makes the difference. It looks like he’s just sort of stuck there..up in the middle of the sky. I’m not sure how you’d show movement in a situation like that, but maybe that’s a problem with the size.
I’d imagine that the people at the top of the hill are clearer in the print and the fact they are watching him adds to the scene.
I’m not really explaining this very well.
I just think it is a shot that will look so very different printed larger.
