Object on a beach

These were a strange site on a deserted beech in the Artic. Me and my son hiked into the beech to watch the sun dip towards the horizon and then rise up again (the 24 hour daylight was difficult to cope with in a tent as it played havoc with our sleep pattern but we wanted to witness this). As it turned out the day got cloudy and then became overcast so we were disappointed. I spent some time playing around with the camera and photographing these objects and birds on the beech. Don’t know what they are but they are metal and are hollow. Dont know what to think of the image I’ve got others but this one seems to be the most true to the actual scene

An interesting story. I don’t think everything you said comes across in the picture but apart from that this is an unusual picture. I honestly have no idea what the objects are either but I do like the contrast between the colour of the containers and the colour of the sand. When I looked at it, it originally looked like something off one of the internt art sites. This kind of image would look really great as a screen background or something. Can’t put my finger on it but they look very interesting.

The colours on the containers are great and I keep looking at the shot trying to see what these are. Not sure about the background. Maybe an angle of only the containers and the sand would be better than this one with the background but apart from that this is a really interesting shot.

You’ve got some great shots from far off places. Very interesting looking at a lot of your pics.

    Keep it up

I prefer the composition in the second but the tone of the colours in the first. Very interesting shots like I said though.

Brian thanks for that you got in quick there

I don’t know what I was trying to get and am not that happy with the results. Played around with second one a bit looking for something

If anyone wants to have a go at either one please do so

    Thanks again Brian

Might they be floats? For fishing nets?

Pixelle yes, possibly but they are big and not uniform in size
Smallest was beech ball size but some were larger. They have holes through them so my feeling was they are some sort of floats. Thanks for the comment

Hi Eugene, Excellent shot and with the exotic location I have to confess to being just a little bit envious. Mike :)

Good story and good shots, on first view I though they looked like WWI bomb shells :-)
Agree with Brian, first shot has the better tones and colours, but second is better composition
