Kind of urgent; Can you 400D be recharged over USB?

  Can the battery for the Canon 400D camera be recharged over USB?
  I’ve left my charger behind but I have PC here with USB ports.

  I doubt it. Some of the Samsung compacts can but I never heard of a DSLR that could.

  Thanks. I’m going out tomorrow hopefully there’ll be enough power for what I want.

  In short, no, you can’t.

  I don’t think any SLR can be charged like that, but I know the Canon certainly can’t.

  Try not using the LCD screen on your camera, that will save you half of the energy..
