Yeah, I’ve dropped a couple of them and broken the bulb. The part from Nikon costs about 15 euro I think, including postage but is tricky to replace. If you can use a soldering iron and are nimble with your hands then it’s possible but watch out, some capacitors remain charged and can give a very nasty shock (nothing that can do damage to you, or at least it hasn’t done damage to me yet). The part number is XE701. If you want to do it yourself, I have instructions somewhere.
that happened to me while in warranty
brought it back to the shop (b&m shop) and 2 1/2 weeks later I had it fixed by Nikon without charge
I wouldn’t dare doing it myself I think
I got nervous so I brought this flash to Conns.
Nikon replaced flash tube and I got it back in less two weeks for E125 with a six-month warranty.
It’s better than a kick in the b***s and I didn’t have to fork out 300 or so for a new flash.
Not the worst result, to be fair.
